Movie of the Week: "Family Connection" by Toby Pannone

“I want to create a story after filming, and warp views, make things big or small or different shapes and explore the things listed in some way or another. I don’t want to have a real goal or a plan until I have the building blocks.” Screen Shot 2019-03-06 at 10.06.02 AM.pngToby’s goal was to tie feelings to places. He hopes his film would allow people to connect places to memories and memories to places. Screen Shot 2019-03-06 at 10.06.12 AM.pngToby shared, “The Reel Works Summer Lab was an amazing experience, where I got to work with people who were interested in the same things as me, and where I got multiple opportunities to make films using equipment I may not have in any other scenario. My film, Family Connection, came together almost completely in the editing process, and I was supported throughout the entire endeavor.”The Summer Lab is a four-week intensive experimental filmmaking workshop for rising 9th and 10th graders.
