Movie of the Week: "Senior Night" by the 2018 Reel Works Fellows

The 2018 Reel Works Fellow cohort produced “Senior Night,” a film about a young woman who loses the trust of her best friend, and the support of her graduating class when she leaks an important secret. screenshot2019-01-29at2.01.31pm“All I’m saying is that I got the ball rolling for you. I’m making things easy for you because I care.” Senior Night was written and directed by Brianna Abdullah (Director Fellow), produced by Devin Halbal (Producer Fellow), shot by Ian Chen (Cinematographer Fellow), and edited by Javon Peters (Editor Fellow). “Similar to the main character, I understood the feeling of not belonging to a circle or to people because you're the outsider and sometimes you have no one to turn to,” shared Brianna Abdullah. “It was challenging developing a story like this because we were on a constraint amount of time to push the story out, get it into production and in post. My main concern was Sara and Jordan's friendship because it was a different relationship that I faced in my past friendships. I tried to relate with the friendship aspect of it and what's it like when you thought you could trust someone but they turned their back on you.”screenshot2019-01-29at2.03.32pmThe Reel Works Fellows is made possible through the support of The Pierre and Tana Matisse Foundation.
