Movie of the Week: Brown Genes

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNU2Lavlr-MBrown Genes by Rebecca Suber“Family shouldn’t be technical or un-technical, real or fake. Family is family. Whatever I think family is to me should just be good enough for anyone who’s asking.” Brown Genes by Rebecca Suber (Mentor: Kayla Clough) tells the story of a filmmaker’s family dynamic and challenges us to think of family beyond genes.  “I love my experience. It was really hard at first because it was my first time doing something like this. But everyone was really helpful and supportive of me and my project. I look at filmmaking totally different and I appreciate everything that goes into it now,” shared Rebecca. Reel Works presents “Movie of the Week” to showcase the exemplary films made by our young filmmakers. If you’d like to nominate a Reel Works Lab or Master Lab film for Movie of the Week, please contact us at thelab@reelworks.org.
