Reel Works in Schools is excited to highlight the students of Frederick Douglass Academy VII. Frederick Douglass Academy VII (FDA) is having a great semester of programming. This class is taught by Teaching Artist Arilyn Martinez Cora and Student Teacher Alexis Flowers. Arilyn and Alexis, along with their students, have been excited about the completion of their PSA, which will bring awareness about gun violence in their neighborhoods. They’ve also chosen to submit it to the NYC Public School Film Festival. Watch the PSA here.

Students are working on their second project - a narrative horror film that they are currently scriptwriting. The concept involves students discovering that their school is haunted and they are racing to try and defeat evil before it takes their souls. The students at FDA are excited to begin production!
