2019 Narrative Lab students visit Automatic Studios

IMG_5214The 2019 Narrative Lab students visited Automatic Studios for a lighting workshop. This workshop was taught by Reel Works alumni Rachel Adkins Alvarez and Jonathan Alvarez. Students learned how to use a basic light kit, the differences between lights, and developed a deep understanding of composition that they could bring back to their own narrative shorts. Knowing the setting I wanted to have for one of my scenes for my film, I knew it would be difficult in trying to portray it. But after running tests on how the lighting would work, it made me see certain scenes easier and differently.” - Deborah Miller, 2019 Narrative Lab StudentNLAB_Shoot_2019_01_28-8404
