Reel Impact Capstone Presentation

Congratulations to our Viacom Reel Impact students who recently had their Capstone Presentation on Friday, December 22nd. Brittany Broderick, Sam Graham, Nathael Jean Louis, and Osa Adu shared with the audience the marketing techniques they’re utilizing to promote their films. They identified the specific themes and audiences for their film and harnessed the tools and techniques to understand the deeper issues behind their personal documentaries. The movie poster and trailer they made for their marketing plan helped create materials that they could use to garner more interest on their film’s Facebook page. Brittany discussed her three takeaways from the workshop: “Audience engagement on social media is important. Having a direct target audience is very important too. Always promote yourself.”Sam shared, “I pushed myself out of my comfort zone. It wasn’t easy looking at a film that I made two years ago. But I learned the difference between an organic and paid ad, and techniques to promote my film.”“I was really glad to learn about target audiences and how to promote their film,” Osa added.Nathael remarked, “this class was really fun and I learned a lot about promoting a film. I learned the importance of knowing your audience, and how you can reach them. I couldn’t have done this if I wasn’t part of Reel Impact and Reel Works.”We’re thankful for our Lead Instructors, Paola Piers-Torres and Tim Cook from Salesforce.com, for their guidance. As well as Hillary Safadi, who completed last year’s Reel Impact class and served as a peer mentor to these recent graduates .
