Back to School with West Preparatory Academy

School is back in session! Reel Works in Schools Staff and Teaching Artists started their first day of classes for over 100 scholars at West Preparatory Academy Middle School in Upper Manhattan this Monday, September 11th. "I'm excited to start the new year with Reel Works,” expressed 7th grader Christopher Sanchez.  Now in our fourth year in partnership with West Prep Academy, Reel Works provides free after school workshops in filmmaking, acting, music and dance five days a week throughout the school year.  Along with our other residencies in Harlem and Brooklyn, Reel Works will lever over 500 NYC youth through community school partnerships.West Prep scholar Taliyah Renee expressed our goals for all our students, "I hope I can become an awesome filmmaker.”
