Successful start to the NEW "Documentary Screening Series"!

Looking back to the first session of our brand new monthly 'Documentary Screening Series' on February 28, Reel Works would like to thank its numerous guests for packing the house! Reel Works and POV received great feedback from the mixed audience of adults and teens alike on the film 'Girl Model' by Ashley Sabin and David Redmon.

"It is really disturbing how this business works. This 13-year-old girl is sent to Japan all on her own and without speaking the language to become a model in the hope to financially support her family in Siberia and returns with nothing but thousands of dollars in debt. This is not a point that is discussed at 'America's Next Top Model'," a guest summed up.

In the follow-up Q&A with filmmaker Ashley Sabin, our guests were happy to take the opportunity to eagerly ask questions to learn more about the background and the development of this project. In return, Ashley Sabin took the chance to provide the teen filmmakers in the room with some useful advice! (Thanks Ashley!!)IMG_8416Finally, our thanks go to POV for the new partnership by lending us this film and others in future.
