Kenan Thompson to Receive Reel Works ChangeMaker Award

Kenan Thompson is set to be honored with the Reel Works ChangeMaker Award at the 2025 Reel Works ChangeMakers Gala, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.

Thompson will be recognized for his work to help create a more inclusive and dynamic space for aspiring filmmakers across his long career in TV and film.

The actor and comedian is the longest-serving castmember on Saturday Night Live and has racked up credits in TV shows and films like All That, Kenan & Kel, Good Burger, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Snakes on a Plane and the second and third Mighty Ducks films, and he has lent his voice to animated movies in the Smurfs and Trolls franchises.

“I am incredibly honored to be receiving the Reel Works ChangeMaker Award. Reel Works is an amazing organization, and I’ve always believed in the power of creativity to bring about positive change,” Thompson said in a statement. “Supporting young filmmakers and helping them tell their stories is something I’m deeply passionate about, and I’m grateful to be a part of an event that champions that mission.”
