Wind River Reservation

In early November, Reel Works Productions and the Reel Works Education department, in partnership with Paramount Networks, traveled to the Fort Washakie School located within the Wind River Reservation to work on a film with their students. This amazing group of fledgling filmmakers interviewed elders, teachers, activists, and state representatives in order to bring awareness to the crisis of missing and murdered indigenous women throughout the United States and Canada. Several of those involved have been personally affected by this issue, and the motivation to see something culminate in their desire to bring awareness to a large audience was inspiring. They presented their film at the LA Skins Fest on November 21st where they received an award and they will continue to present their work on a national scale throughout the 2020 film festival season. We are so proud to have been asked to partner with the students at Fort Washakie School. It was an honor and a privilege to be part of their amazing journey!
