Reel Works Tour Panavision

Reel Works has been thrilled to take our MediaMKRS participants and filmmaking lab students on tours of famous camera equipment rental facility, Panavision. 

“During the Panavision tour, I was fortunate to get a behind-the-scenes look of the different stations that make a company like Panavision tick. It was great to talk to the different folks working there that shared technical knowledge as well as helpful tips to grow in the entertainment field.” said Michelle Granda, a MediaMKRS Career Exploration participant. 

As students on these visits toured the space, they learned about different jobs within camera rental facilities, how camera teams prepare for shoots, and the many ways cameras can be customized for different types of productions.

One such position Michelle found interesting was that of prep technician. “I was inspired by the prep technicians and their ability to assure us that with so much information going around the essential component is the passion for learning. I hope to be on a crew like the one at Panavision that grows crucial skills such as organization and quick-thinking while also letting their crew fly from the nest and contribute their talents where they are needed.” 

We are so thankful to the many members of the Panavision staff who took time out of their day to talk with these groups of students, show them what they do and enlighten them to even more career paths for camera enthusiasts.
