MediaMKRS Celebrates Los Angeles Post Production Graduates

Our Los Angeles Alumni Community is growing! As of today, we have 120+ MediaMKRS graduates ready to work in the City of Angels. Despite the rocky start to the year due to the LA fires, our alumni showed up and showed out at our two events hosted by industry partners. 

This January, we welcomed 14 Post Production Supervisors to our community. Seven of those supervisors are West Coast based and joined Reel Works for a belated graduation and networking mixer at the Warner Bros. Discovery Lot in Burbank. The seven graduates connected to post-production professionals and celebrated their accomplishments. 

We wouldn’t be able to do our post production programs without the unwavering support of Cynthia Kanner (SVP, Post Production, HBO) and Kaitlyn Herring (Manager, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Pipeline Programs). Thank you to both of these women, who are always fierce advocates for the work we do. WBD hosted the graduation at Crew HQ, which provided a great kick-off for our graduates’ new post-program journey.

The Los Angeles festivities culminated with our second annual LA MediaMKRS Alumni Mixer.

In addition to our alumni’s attendance, Reel Works Board Members, Chief Executive Officer, John Williams were all in attendance. The mixer stood firmly as a reunion, a celebration and a networking event all wrapped into one fabulous evening. 

We are very proud of all the work our alumni are up to. Just this year, Los Angeles MediaMKRS alumni have gotten gigs at AMC Networks, Picture Head, and Fox–just to name a few. It hasn’t been easy, but the past couple of years have shown us how resilient and passionate our participants are. As our programs grow, so does our support and alumni network.
