Good Morning America Surprises Reel Works’ Director of Education!

This morning, Good Morning America surprised Reel Works’ own Charles Reynoso to honor his tireless dedication to inspiring, teaching and mentoring young filmmakers at ABC News’ Oscars after-party.

Charles is the Director of Education at Reel Works and has been an educator, musician and multimedia artist for over two decades. He has also been a mentor and a friend to many of our students and has made a profound impact on their lives. Charles receives tremendous joy in empowering young people to find their voice through filmmaking.

As  Reel Works Fellow, Maya Velazquez said on air: "I came into Reel Works really timid and unsure. Charles has been there to uplift me and inspire me whenever I'm doubting myself. He just keeps pushing me to be the best filmmaker and best person I can be."

Watch the shock and surprise in Charle’s eyes as he is led into the GMA studio with live dancers and cheers from the students whose lives he has changed.  After being interviewed live by Michael Strahan, George Stephanopoulos and Robin Roberts, Charles was presented a check for $10,000 from Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in support of Reel Works’ mission.
