Wrapping up the Summer at Reel Works
The Summer Lab is a free four week intensive filmmaking program in which teens work collaboratively to create thought-provoking stories. This program provides New York City teens with the opportunity to do something productive and fun throughout the summer.
This year, fourteen teens were chosen to be a part of the Summer Lab, which was taught by filmmaker Dia Felix and writing mentor, Trish Hicks.
With the help of their peer mentors, who are graduates of The Lab, students learned how to film and edit their collaborative films.
Take a look at the video below, produced by graduates in Reel Works Productions to get an idea of what summer was like at Reel Works. Their joyous energy and laughter was certainly contagious!
