The F. John Outcalt Award for Outstanding Filmmaking

Each year, Reel Works Youth Ambassadors nominate peer filmmakers for the F. John Outcalt Award for Outstanding Filmmaking, recognizing work that demonstrates bold storytelling and social impact.

This year's award went to Lois Fosu for her film Perseverance.

F. John Outcalt was a writer, director, and activist whose work centered on socially conscious storytelling. Established in his memory by his partner, Andrew R. Rosenthal, and the Barbara and William Rosenthal Family Foundation, the award honors emerging filmmakers whose work reflects creativity, authenticity, and a commitment to stories that matter.
